The international Delhi book fair 2022

The Delhi international book fair was a unique experience. Put up in the 3rd and 4th halls of the Pragati maidan, it offered both new and second-hand books at cheap rates.

There was a wide variety of books that one could choose from, including all genres.

I would recommend you visit all stores before setting your heart on one, as the same books at different stalls are available at lower rates. All books were in a particularly good condition, and possibly not even second hand!

It includes not only a wide range of books but also shedloads of stationery. Stores such as DOMS and Steadler had their stalls, however they hardly offer any discount. Other stationery stores also put up their stalls there and offer discounts.

buying more books from a single store might also score you a discount, if you are good at negotiating

in the 2022 version, there was a tiny food court inside the hall which had a few local stores alongside dominos and biryani blues.

If you are planning to visit the 2023 book fair, I recommend going on the last day, for the following reasons

1.there is almost no crowd: we went on the last day and there was barely any crowd. This allowed for more peaceful shopping, and we could manage our time efficiently.

2.the entry is free (at least for us): due to the lack of crowd, they allowed us to enter for free.

How to get there?

Pragati Maidan is a well-connected place with is easy to reach. It is connected to the supreme court metro station and can also be reached by car. There is a car parking available inside. Visit the following website to know how to reach the supreme court metro station from your nearest metro station  https://www.delhimetrorail.com/ .
