Dilli Haat-What to Expect

Who has not heard about Dilli Haat. It is famous for its bargaining and to survive there, you need serious bargaining skills!

The shops at Dilli Haat include a wide variety, including shops selling jewellery, Indian traditional clothes, traditional and modern show pieces, home décor, traditional Indian sandals and much more!

1.jewellery- a greater part of the shops was selling jewellery. This included both fake and silver plaited jewellery. all jewellery there was not however traditional.one could choose from a range of rings, small ear studs, ear cuffs, nose rings, bracelets, long fancy earrings and necklaces. Traditional Tribal jewellery too was available. NOTE: all jewellery items we bought were under one hundred rupees and rings were around twenty-five rupees per piece (plain).





2.Indian traditional clothes-Indian clothes like suits for both men and women, cloth for making custom suits and cropped Indian tops were among the many traditional clothing available. The suits (before bargaining) ranged from 700-1500 rupees and the tops too were around the same cost.

3.Show pieces- traditional showpieces such as the popular Indian elephant were among the widely sold items there. Bobbleheads, glass sculptures, tiny chessboards and metal animals were among the other show pieces sold there. Items such as keychains and magnets too were available. NOTE: we bought keychains for rupees 50-150 and 3 magnets for one hundred rupees.





4.Home décor- home décor items such as lamps, pillow cases , dream catchers and bedsheets were also found there. Along with such items, handcrafted vases and pots were also available.



5.Traditional sandals- traditional sandals, heels and Punjabi jutties were available there ranging from 350-1250 rupees. The following was bought for 250 rupees (original cost 450 rupees).



6.Traditional Handicraft-Unique traditional handicraft items such as play toys ,book marks ,designer books ,etc  were among the many traditional handicraft items that one could buy.

In addition, posters were also available.
